Manchester Fashion Week: Kirsty Attwood Appointment

Newsflash! Manchester Fashion Week appoints Net-a-porter’s Kirsty Attwood as Head of Fashion. 

Hot off the press – Kirsty joins MCRFW from NET-A-PORTER.COM with a decade of experience working with luxury brands and high profile clientele around the world.

Alongside making influential decisions about the teams sales strategies she was also responsible for the Studio Services department launched with the UK’s TV and film costume elite in mind at Selfridges London.

Kirsty can relate to the designers she works with as she had her own womanswear brand Kirstmairie which has adorned numerous celebrity clients. 

Here’s what the woman herself had to say:

“The inspiration behind MCRFW offers such a foundation to this companies structure it has huge potential to have an integral and impact-full contribution to the industry as a whole, over the next year I hope to build those relationships to not only establish the industries professionals based in the north but give a platform to new talent”

Not long now! MCRFW 2013 will take place on April 22^nd-26^th at the National Football Museum. The iconic Urbis building will be transformed into a must- visit hot spot, hosting 30 fashion shows and 15 exhibition spaces throughout the 5-day event. 

This year will see MCRFW house its usual extravaganza of fashion catwalk and shopping with a few surprises from the MCRFW team, to celebrate the building of the new website and blog plus the launch of MCRFW Hosts.

NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week Model Search

Could you model for NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week?!

Planning for NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week is well underway and 2013 is looking better than ever (even though I do say so myself, being the organiser!). This year, I’m delighted to be working again with Boho Models, the Official Model Agency for NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week.

The last few years, NFW has had countless catwalks and photoshoots providing plenty of great opportunities and showcases for models. This year, we’re opening up the age group, so we’re looking for models from 18+. I’d personally like to see some more older models to rival Twiggy!
